Violent Offence [Criminal Harassment]
Client: R. v. M.P.

Mr. M.P. was charged with Criminal Harassment. During the two-day trial, a vigorous cross-examination of the witnesses' was conducted. Mr. M.P. was subsequently found not guilty.

Violent Offence [Assault, Mischief, uttering Threats]
Client: R. v. N.R.

Mr. N.R was charged with Assault, Mischief, and uttering death Threats. A successful cross-examination of the complainant during trial uncovered a number of inconsistencies.

Mr. N.R. was acquitted of all charges.

Violent Offence [Kidnapping]
Client: R. v. P.C.

On the morning of the Trial, all charges against Mr. P.C. were subsequently withdrawn due to discussions between the Crown Prosecution and Defence Counsel.

All charges against Mr. P.C. were withdrawn.

Violent Offence [Sexual Assault]
Client: R. v. D.S.

Mr. D.S. was charged with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference. All charges were ultimately withdrawn due to very serious concerns surrounding the complainant's credibility during trial in the Ontario Court of Justice.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. D.S. were withdrawn.

Violent Offence [Aggravated Assault]
Client: R. v. K.R.

Mr. K.R. was accused of using a knife during a fight, which left the victim with permanent brain damage. If convicted, Mr. K.R. would face a lengthy jail sentence. After an extensive trial in the Ontario Court of Justice, Mr. K.R. was found not guilty.

Verdict

Mr. K.R. was acquitted of all charges.

Violent Offence [Resisting Arrest]
Client: R. v. G.S.

Mr. G.S. was charged with three counts of Assault against a police officer as well as Assault with the intent to Resist Arrest. After the trial, there were found to be many issues surrounding police testimony. As a result, all charges were withdrawn.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. G.S. were withdrawn.

Property Offence [Theft - $5000+]
Client: R. v. L.S.

Mr. L.S. was charged with Theft over $5000 and Possession of Property obtained via crime. A tractor-trailer containing property valued at $400 000.00 was alleged to have been stolen by Mr. L.S. Cross examination of a witness revealed many inconsistencies. The Preliminary Hearing lasted two days.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. L.S. were withdrawn.

Property Offence [Fraud]
Client: R. v. R.S.

Mr. R.S. was charged with Fraud under $5,000. Mr. R.S. was accused of selling goods throughout the GTA for an organization, which was believed to fraudulent.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. R.S. were withdrawn.

Property Offence [Fraud]
Client: R. v. M.S.

Mr. M.S. was charged with Fraud under $5,000. In this particular case, a series of credit cards were believed to have been obtained via Fraud. The cards were used to purchase gasoline at various gas stations throughout the GTA.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. M.S. were withdrawn.

Property Offence [Breaking and Entering]
Client: R. v. R.G.

Mr. R.G. was accused of committing an impulsive series [23 in total] of Breaking and Enters with a team of individuals throughout the Halton region. If convicted, Mr. R.G. would face a significant penitentiary sentence. After a Preliminary Hearing and an extensive trial in the Superior Court of Justice, it was recognized that Mr. R.G’s rights, under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, had been violated. As a result, all charges against Mr. R.G. were dismissed.

Verdict

Mr. R.G. was found not guilty.

Property Offence [Fraud]
Client: R. v. C.R.

Mr. C.R. was charged with Fraud over $5,000. In this particular case, the allegations against the client were rather complicated as it involved sophisticated fraudulent conduct, which took place over a period of 8 months. It was alleged, the Wal-Mart Corporation had been defrauded of approximately $85,482.73. Mr. C.R. was facing a lengthy imprisonment if convicted. After an extensive negotiation, and successfully extracting various discrepancies within the case, all charges were withdrawn.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. C.R. were withdrawn.

Property Offence [Theft of a Motor Vehicle]
Client: R. v. F.S.

Mr. F.S. was charged with two counts of Theft over $5000. Mr. F.S. was alleged to have stolen two brand new vehicles from a Car Dealership. After three days of a Preliminary Hearing, all charges were withdrawn.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. F.S. were withdrawn.

Weapons Offence
Client: R. v. D.D.

Mr. D.D. was charged with possession of a Firearm, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruct Justice. Police were conducting a traffic stop; during this time Mr. D.D. fled the scene. After a pursuit, he was alleged to be in possession of a Firearm. The client was facing a minimum of 3 years in prison if convicted. Throughout the [lengthy] negotiations with the Crown, many issues surrounding the Charter were presented.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. D.D. were withdrawn.

Drug Offence [Heroin]
Client: R. v. G.S.

Mr. G.S. was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, specifically heroin. Police stopped Mr. G.S. in his car, where they found drugs after an extensive search of his vehicle. After lengthy negotiations with Crown Counsel, all charges against Mr. G.S. were subsequently withdrawn.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. G.S. were withdrawn.

Drug Offence [Importing]
Client: R. v. C.C.

Mr. C.C. was accused of importing more than 2 Kilos of Cocaine into Canada. He was arrested at Pearson International Airport, where he was facing a seven-year jail sentence. After a Preliminary Hearing and a trial at the Superior Court of Justice, Mr. C.C. was found not guilty.

Verdict

Mr. C.C. was acquitted of all charges.

Drug Offence [Trafficking]
Client: R. v. P.C.

Mr. P.C. was accused of Trafficking large quantities of drugs [cocaine, crack, marijuana, and ecstasy] from a residence in Toronto. After a lengthy Preliminary Hearing, as well as a rigorous cross-examination of both officers and witnesses’, all charges against Mr. P.C. were withdrawn.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. P.C. were withdrawn.

Violent Offence/Property Offence
Client: R. v. F.A.

Mr. F.A. was charged with Robbery and Forcible Confinement. The complainant claimed he was held against his will in the back of a motor vehicle and subsequently robbed. Despite the complainant identifying Mr. F.A as the offender, charges against Mr. F.A. were withdrawn due to issues raised by Counsel.

Verdict

All charges against Mr. F.A. were withdrawn.

Client: R. v. R.H.

Mr. R.H. was charged with Robbery with a weapon. After meeting with Crown Counsel during a Judicial Pre-Trial, a series of discrepancies were brought to the forefront of the case.

All charges against Mr. R.H. were withdrawn.

Client: R. v. R.K.

Mr. R.K. was charged with Assault and Possession of a dangerous weapon. During an effective cross-examination at the trial, there were found to be a number of inconsistencies with witness statement and testimony. As a result, Mr. R.K. was found not guilty.
